Tri-Nations Australia vs South Africa from Perth -
The game started off with South Africa scoring early on in the game. Du Preez quite easily ran across the line. The Aussies made a fundamental mistake by turning there back on him after a penalty was given; that's school level rugby rules not adhered to. Australia seemed to make a lot of mistakes on the field and it wasn't long before the score was 15 nil to the Springboks.
Possession and territory primarily belonged to the Springboks but it wasnt long before the Wallabies caught up to this.
From a Strength Training perspective, the Springboks were a delight to watch. There was an attempt by the Wallabies to break through the forward line of the Springboks in order to score a try in the early half of the first half close to the try line. The defense of the big Springbok forwards was inpenetrable. This goes to show the positives of strength training to build a brick wall that the opposition are unable to break through.
A try by SA's Fourie demonstrated an explosive burst of speed and strength as he ran past the try line without even being touched by the Wallabies.
Habana was a delight going on to score 2 tries and crediting it to God. The man was quick and decisive and finally able to be a major part of the Tri Nations.
The 2nd half proved the Wallabies to be a much more aggressive team with phases of assaults. At one point phases exceeded 15.
2 tries by by Giteau and a last minute try by Turner give the Wallabies something to work with as they play the Springboks next week in Brisbane.
Final score 32-25 to South Africa.
